In Uttarakhand, the BJP has started preparations for the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP, which has been holding all five seats in the state for the last two elections, now faces the challenge of creating history by making a hat-trick. Accordingly, the party is busy in preparations, but along with this the question has also started floating in the political circles whether the party will change the candidates this time.
However, the BJP is not in a tussle over tickets with its main rival, the Congress, in the state. Congress has more claimants on Haridwar, Nainital parliamentary seats. This is not visible in BJP. In view of this, it is believed that the party will avoid taking the risk of changing the candidates here.
BJP passing through golden phase:
BJP is going through its golden phase in Uttarakhand. The party won all five seats in the state in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Since then, BJP has been creating new dimensions of success in every election. In the 2017 state assembly elections, the BJP won a thumping majority, and in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, it once again managed to retain all five seats.
Apart from this, be it the elections of municipal bodies, three-tier panchayats and co-operatives in the state or the by-elections held on the vacant seats of the Vidhansabha, the BJP won in all. In the 2022 assembly elections, the party again broke the myth of changing the ruling party in the state every five years by securing a two-thirds majority.
The party aims to win all the seats for the third time in a row:
Now that the party has to go to the doorstep of the people in the Lok Sabha elections next year, it has already started preparations for this. The way the programs of the party’s public relations campaign have been decided, it is being seen as creating an atmosphere in favor of the BJP for the Lok Sabha elections. Amidst this scenario, the question is naturally echoing whether the party will change the candidates for the seats here in the Lok Sabha elections or will repose faith only on the leaders currently representing them.
Presently Haridwar Lok Sabha seat is represented by former Union Education Minister and former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat from Pauri Garhwal and Union Minister of State Ajay Bhatt from Nainital. Ajay Tamta, MP from Almora reserved seat, has been a Minister of State at the Center in his previous tenure, while Maharani Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah is being elected continuously from Tehri seat.
The party aims to win all the seats for the third time in a row. It is believed that in this scenario the party would hardly take the risk of changing the candidates on the seats here. However, it is the job of the central leadership of the party to decide who to make a candidate and who not. Everyone is watching what strategy she adopts in the coming days.
BJP is such a party, which always remains in election mode. With the Lok Sabha elections round the corner, naturally the party is gearing up for the preparations. People are satisfied with the Ganga of development that is flowing in the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and will again hand over the leadership to the BJP. As far as ticket distribution is concerned, it is the job of the central leadership. Whoever the party nominates the candidate, we will all work for his victory.
