Work should be done on the concept of one village one servant for the development of rural areas – CM Pushkar Singh Dhami

On Friday, a meeting of the Rural Development and Migration Commission was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The Chief Minister said that this commission, formed with the aim of preventing migration from rural areas, should be named Migration Prevention Commission. For better implementation of the recommendations of the commission, the Chief Minister directed to constitute a committee under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, in which the members of the commission would also be there. The Chief Minister said that for the development of rural areas, work should be done on the concept of One Gram One Sevak. He said that for the overall development of Uttarakhand, the State Government is working on many public welfare schemes. New subjects related to the development of the state are being taken forward. In 2025, Uttarakhand will celebrate the silver jubilee of the establishment of the state. Till then, in which areas the Rural Development and Migration Commission can make its important contribution, special attention should be paid in this direction along with the work plan in those areas and the achievements should be visible on the ground. The output of any meeting should come.
The Chief Minister said that concrete action plans should be prepared by the concerned departments to implement the suggestions being given by the Migration Commission through its report. Special attention should be paid to simplification of procedures so that people get maximum benefits of public welfare schemes. The Chief Minister said that special attention should be paid to schemes focused on villages to prevent migration from rural areas. He said that it should be ensured that the common people get full benefit of the schemes of the Central and State Governments related to increasing livelihood resources and infrastructure development in rural areas. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, work is being done rapidly in the field of road, rail connectivity and infrastructure development in the state. He said that the Rural Development and Migration Commission should not have limited scope to fulfill its objectives and goals in the State. Special attention should be paid to how most of the people can be linked with livelihood.

Deputy Chairman of Rural Development and Migration Commission, Dr. S.S. Negi said that 18 reports have been submitted to the State Government by the Rural Development and Migration Commission. He said that the inclination of many people has increased in the direction of reverse migration. On this occasion, the members of Rural Development and Migration Commission also gave their suggestions on which areas need more attention for the overall development of the state.
