High court closed from 18 to 22 February.



Winter vacation has been declared in the Nainital High Court from 18 January to 21 February. Since the High Court is closed on Saturday and Sunday, the High Court will be closed from today (Saturday). The High Court will now open on 22 February.

However, during winter vacation, Justice NS Dhanik from 18 to 24 January, Justice Sharad Kumar Sharma from 25 to 31 January, Justice RC Khulbe from 1 to 7 February, Justice Alok Kumar Verma from 8 to 14 February, Justice from 15 to 21 February Ravindra Maithani will hear necessary cases.

Farewell given to Justice Lokpal Singh in Full Court References:
Senior High Court Justice Lokpal Singh, who was retiring on February 15, was given a full court reference and a farewell farewell. Earlier, Justice Singh was presented a memento of the High Court building in the bar association’s auditorium. His tenure was praised by Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan, Advocate General SN Babulkar and Bar President at the Full Court Conference.

The Chief Justice wished Justice Lokpal Singh a long life and a happy life. In the farewell ceremony, Justice Lokpal Singh thanked the High Court judges, advocates and judicial officers for their support. The farewell ceremony was conducted by Registrar General Dhananjay Chaturvedi. At the full court conference, Justice Manoj Tiwari, Justice Sharad Kumar Sharma, NS Dhanik, Justice Ravindra Maithani, Justice Alok Verma were present.

Justice Lokpal Singh expressed concern over the low representation of women in the judiciary:
Justice Lokpal Singh said that he has a feeling that women advocates are not being represented in the judiciary while women are equaling men in every field. Justice said that reservation policy for women has been made in the country but they are not getting the benefit of it. He said that after retirement he will raise this issue prominently so that women can get opportunities as advocates and government advocates. He said that the judiciary is working well and as long as the bar and the bench are in harmony, good decisions will continue to come. Bar secretaries Jayawardhan Kandpal, GS Sanghu, CSC Chandra Shekhar Rawat, Rakesh Thapliyal, DK Sharma, Lalit Sharma, Lalit Belwal, Mahendra Pal, Vinod Gemini, Ajayvir Pundir, DCS Rawat, etc. were present on the occasion.
Justice Lokpal Singh gave several important decisions:
Justice Lokpal Singh has given several important decisions. He said in one of his orders that paper is very much used in the courts which can be reduced. He said that the misuse of paper has a direct impact on environmental balance. He also gave a decision in the interest of employees in the matter of recovering ACP from Class IV employees working in the Education Department. He also ruled in cases of disturbances in EVMs in the 2017 assembly elections.
