Water connections in Anganwadi centers and schools should be ensured at the earliest: Chief Minister.

 



Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat instructed the District Magistrates to make sure that the goals are met within the stipulated period while giving water life mission the highest priority. Every District Magistrate should have information in the evening that how many houses were given water connection in their district that day. The district collector should also inform the government regularly about this information. Daily targets should be fixed and worked in mission mode. The Chief Minister was reviewing the Jal Jeevan Mission with senior government officials and district magistrates through video conference at the CM residence.

Work for the Water Life Mission in full commitment:
The Chief Minister said that Jal Jeevan Mission is the prime program of the Prime Minister. Along with the connection of water in all houses in rural areas, availability of proper drinking water and its quality is also to be ensured. In this, everyone will have to work together with more hard work and commitment. The village action plan should be prepared as soon as possible and work accordingly. The Prime Minister has encouraged the enthusiasm of all of us by praising the state government for providing Rs. 1 water connection in rural areas. Now we have to work twice as enthusiastically.

Water connection in all schools and Anganwadi centers in 100 days:
The Chief Minister said that as per the instructions of the Prime Minister, water connection should be ensured in all schools and Anganwadi centers within 100 days from October 2. In this, strict action will be taken on negligence at any stage.

Water connection in every rural household by December 2021:
Secretary Drinking Water Shri Nitesh Jha informed that four milestones have been set under the Water Life Mission in the state. The plan is to achieve the target under the earlier Mile Stone in even less time. Now every rural house has to provide water connection by December 2021. In this financial year, more than 61 thousand water connections have been given till September 30 even in the face of adverse conditions like Corona. There are 15218 total villages in the state. Of these, 623 villages are such that there is no water line. Whereas out of total 14 lakh 61 thousand 910 houses, 2 lakh 78 thousand 124 houses have water connection. In villages where water lines have reached Dehradun and Bageshwar, water connection is to be ensured to all rural houses by December 25 this year. All households are to provide water connection by 26 January 2021 in Almora, Champawat, Chamoli, Nainital, Pauri, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Tehri and Uttarkashi by the water line. Haridwar and Udhamsinghnagar districts are to meet this target by 31 March 2021. All SC and ST villages are to be covered by March 2021. The target is to be achieved by 30 September 2021 in villages where there is no water line.

The availability of 55 liters of water per person per day will be ensured:
Under the second mile stone, 55 liters of water per person per day will be ensured for the availability of adequate drinking water.

Quality of drinking water as per BIS: 10500 standard:
Drinking water quality will be ensured under the third mile stone. It will meet the BIS: 10500 standard of water quality of the Government of India. For this, their recognition will be taken from NABL by establishing a water quality lab. All water labs will be open to the public. In these, any person will be able to check the quality of their water samples. Field test kits will be provided at the village level. Some villagers will also be trained for this.
Under the fourth mile stone, water connection will be made available in all schools and Anganwadi centers within 100 days from October 2, as per the Prime Minister’s target. Along with this, gray water management and spring shade management will also be done.
Secretary Finance Shri Amit Negi, Shri Ashish Joshi, District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
