
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be in Dehradun on a two-day visit from Saturday. Security arrangements have been tightened by the police department for this. The Vice President will reach Dehradun Airport at Jolly Grant at 3:25 pm on August 31. After this, he will reach Petroleum University at 3:55 pm. He will stay at the university between 4 and 5 pm, while he will reach Raj Bhavan at 5:20 pm and rest for the night. On September 1, at 9:55 am, the Vice President will reach the National Indian Military College, stay there for about an hour and reach Rishikesh helipad at 11:40 am, where he will participate in the program organized at AIIMS Rishikesh at 11:55 am. He will meet medical students and staff between 12 noon and 1 pm.
Security arrangements tightened
The police have tightened the security arrangements for the arrival of the Vice President in Dehradun. In a briefing held at the Reserve Police Line, IG Garhwal Karan Singh Nagnyal and SSP Dehradun Ajay Singh instructed the policemen on duty.
He said that everyone should reach three hours before the scheduled time and get information regarding their duty. Check the duty place and its surroundings thoroughly and if any suspicious object is found, immediately inform the higher authorities. The officer in charge of the VIP route was instructed to inspect the entire route and ensure that there is no construction material lying on the road. Also, during fleet movement on the route, at the intersections where there is more traffic pressure, make arrangements to stop the traffic with the help of barricading or ropes.
