Uttarakhand on high alert after Delhi blasts: Borders beefed up, dog squads instructed to conduct checks

Following the blasts, the police have been in constant contact with the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Delhi Police, and are also coordinating with police officers from other border states.

Following the Delhi bombings, Police Headquarters has maintained a heightened alert. Vigilance has been increased at international and interstate borders. ADG Law and Order Dr. V. Murugesan has directed all districts to conduct intensive checking at crowded locations. He also issued other directives via video conferencing with police officers from the Garhwal and Kumaon ranges.

The ADG, Law and Order, stated that following the blasts, the police are in constant contact with the Uttar Pradesh ATS and the Delhi Police. Coordination is also being established with police officers from other border states. Special vigilance is being maintained on the Himachal and Saharanpur borders. Information is being shared with officials from these states on an hourly basis. Coordination is also being established with the SSB on the Nepal border.

He stated that the state has numerous military installations. He stated that extensive arrangements have been made to monitor them. Bomb disposal squads and dog squads are conducting checks at airports, airstrips, air force stations, helipads, aviation training institutes, hotels, dharamshalas, railway stations, bus stands, and markets. Police have been instructed to remain on full alert. To this end, they have been instructed to remain in constant contact with intelligence and gather as much information as possible. Social media is also being monitored continuously.
