14 people have died in a road accident in Champawat, Uttarakhand. The accident is being told at 3-4 o’clock in the morning. According to the information received, at that time 16 people were returning from the wedding ceremony in Max (Jeep). Only then his vehicle fell into the ditch. At present, the SDRF team is present on the spot and the rescue operation is going on.

Two people are said to be injured in this accident. At present the search operation is going on. The rescue team has taken out the injured and sent them to the hospital for treatment. Now taking out the bodies of the dead and sending them to the hospital for post-mortem. Due to being away from the Champawat headquarters, the place of the accident is facing difficulties in running the rescue operation.

The accident happened on the Sukhidhang Reetha Sahib (Sukhidhang-Danda Minar) motorway in district Champawat. It is being told that all the people involved in the procession were returning home after attending the marriage held in Panchmukhi Dharamshala of Tanakpur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the accident in Uttarakhand. He has announced Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of the dead and Rs 50,000 to the injured. He tweeted, ‘The accident in Champawat, Uttarakhand is heart-wrenching. I express my condolences to the families of those who have died in this. The local administration is engaged in relief and rescue work.

CM also issued statement:

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that he is saddened to receive the painful news of a vehicle returning from the procession crashing near Sukhidhang-Danda-Minar road this morning. I pray to God for peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured.
