Players of Uttarakhand have performed brilliantly in the North India Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) Championship held in Jammu. Players won a total of 27 medals including 15 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze. All of them have brought glory to the state.
Let us tell you that three players of Dehradun, Vansh Gusain, Pranav Nautiyal and Vivek Panwar won gold medals and Suchi Sirohi won bronze medal in the girls category and brought glory to the state. North India Muay Thai Championship was organized in the first week of January in the Police Sports Ring by the Muay Thai Association of Jammu and Kashmir.
More than 450 players participated
More than 450 players from eight states of North India participated in this game. Only 32 players participated from Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand state has secured second position in the championship by winning a total of 27 medals including 15 gold medals. The medal winning players were honoured by Jammu Kashmir Olympic Association Chairman Dr. Ashutosh Sharma and General Secretary Vijay Vaidya by giving them medals.

Apart from this, Finance Minister Premchand Agarwal, former CM Trivendra Singh Rawat, Uttaranchal Olympic Association President Mahesh Negi, United Muay Thai India General Secretary Dr. Shriram Chaudhary, Deputy Director Sports Rasika Siddiqui, Harish Kothari, Arun Kumar Sood, Narayan Singh Rana, Nilesh Joshi, Pragya Joshi, Vishan Chhetri, Aarti Saini etc. have congratulated the players on their excellent performance.
Uttarakhand’s excellent performance in All India Junior Badminton Tournament
Jagran Correspondent, Dehradun. Uttarakhand’s shuttlers performed brilliantly in the Yonex Sunrise All India Junior Badminton Ranking Tournament held in Hyderabad from 3 to 10 January. They won one gold medal and four bronze medals. Angel Puneda won one gold and one bronze medal for Uttarakhand. Ansh Negi, Suryansh Rawat and Anya Bisht also won bronze medals. All these players have been selected for the trials of Indian Junior Badminton going to the upcoming Dutch and German Open. Pithoragarh’s Angel Puneda won the gold medal in mixed doubles while pairing up with Delhi’s Bhavya Chaudhary.
Secured her place in the final
In girls doubles, Angel Puneda won the bronze medal while pairing up with Pauri Garhwal’s Anya Bisht. Angel Puneda entered the semi-finals by defeating Kerala’s Aman Aneesh and Riya Shusheel 21-14, 21-10 in the quarter-finals. In the semi-finals, she defeated the pair of Vijoran Jason Kerala and Anya Bisht Uttarakhand 21-13, 21-17 and confirmed her place in the final. In the finals they defeated the pair of Pratham Chaudhary of Delhi and Tarini Suri of Maharashtra 21-13, 21-17 and won the title. While in girls doubles Angel paired up with Anya Bisht of Pauri and made it to the semi-finals. They had to settle for bronze medal after losing to Shriyanshi Valishetti and Venala K of Telangana 18-21, 21-15, and 21-15 in a tough match.
