Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday participated in a seminar based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Mukhya Sevak Sadan, Chief Minister’s residence Dehradun. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced the creation of a Center of Excellence to make the AI mission successful in the state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that everyone has to brainstorm together to take the state forward with the help of AI. This brainstorming program organized on AI will definitely bring out Amrit which will take the state forward on the basis of AI in the state. With the help of AI, significant development is going to take place in ecology, economy, technology, accountability and sustainable development. All experts and people discharging various responsibilities will also have to work on acquiring the specialty of AI. He said that a road map has been prepared to develop AI technology along with Science Technology and Innovation Policy in Uttarakhand. AI affects every aspect of our life.
People’s time can be saved with AI
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has special focus on science technology and AI. Many achievements are being achieved with the use of AI. AI has also worked to save people’s time. Revolutionary changes have come in scientific research and daily life through AI. AI is becoming the main reason for innovation in industry, medicine, agriculture, education, health, science. AI can play an important role in the development and prosperity of the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is working rapidly in every field to make Uttarakhand the leading state of the country, proof of which is that the state has secured the first position in the index of Sustainable Development Goals. Our state is rich in natural resources, cultural heritage, excellent human resources. A large land area is covered with forests. By using AI properly, these resources can be used in the best way. The chances of success can be increased by increasing the use of AI in agriculture, tourism, health, education and other sectors.
Will work on creating an effective mechanism for AI
The Chief Minister said that with the help of AI, effective work can be done to understand disaster and climate change in the state. The whole world is seeing India’s leadership in the field of science and technology. India AI Mission has been started under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Its objective is to develop AI related technology. An AI-friendly environment is being created in the state by creating better coordination with the central government. Will work on creating an effective mechanism for AI with the cooperation of various institutions and institutes of the state.
Director General UCOST Prof. Durgesh Pant said that the present time is the time of AI. Uttarakhand is the land of Devbhoomi as well as spiritual and scientific solutions. There are many central institutions here. The state of Uttarakhand is moving forward as a knowledge state. The state can become strong and prosperous only with the concept of knowledge state. Linking AI with the development of the state, work has to be done in agriculture, tourism, good governance, livelihood, health and other areas. Effective and decisive suggestions will come out from the brainstorming to be held today. On this occasion, Dinesh Tyagi said that today’s environment in Uttarakhand is different. There has been a big positive change in the state. There is a need to establish basic infrastructure to promote AI in the state. At present, every place in the state has to be covered with high speed internet connectivity. It is necessary to provide basic education of AI to more and more students in schools/colleges. Our aim is to provide convenience to the people through AI. Youth are also to be connected to employment through AI.
