The economy of Uttarakhand is continuously getting stronger. There has been an unexpected increase in the gross domestic product (GDP) of the state during the tenure of the Dhami government. Also, per capita income has increased. From the financial year 2022-23 till now, the GDP of the state has increased by 29 percent. At the same time, the average per capita income has also increased by 24 percent. This time Uttarakhand’s GDP increased by about 14 percent as compared to the last financial year, while the average per capita income increased by 11.33 percent to Rs 2.74 lakh. This is 35 percent more than the national average.
The estimated GDP of the state for the coming financial year has been estimated to be 13 percent higher than the present. However, the economic growth rate was 1.22 percent less than last year.
On Thursday, along with the annual budget of Uttarakhand, the Economic Survey Report was also tabled in the Assembly. In this, the financial indicators of the state’s economy were presented. In the current financial year, the GDP of Uttarakhand was estimated to be around Rs 378 thousand crore, which is 14 percent more than the previous financial year (333 thousand crores).
Details of average per capita annual income also given
At the same time, the details of the average per capita annual income in the state have also been given in the Economic Survey. This time the per capita income in Uttarakhand has been estimated to be Rs 2.74 lakh, which was Rs 2.46 lakh in the last financial year. However, the average per capita income of the state also increased by 11.8 percent in the last financial year. Apart from this, the economic growth rate of the state is estimated to be 6.61 percent in the year 2024-25. This growth rate was 7.83 percent in the year 2023-24. In the current year, the growth rate in the state is estimated to decline by 1.22 percent. However, the country’s economic growth rate is also estimated to be 6.4 percent in the year 2024-25.
Average income in Uttarakhand is higher than the national average
The average annual per capita income in Uttarakhand in the current financial year has been estimated at Rs 2.74 lakh, which is about Rs 28,000 more than last year. This increase is 11.33 percent. At the same time, the national average is two lakh rupees. In such a situation, the average income in Uttarakhand is Rs 74 thousand more than the national average.
During the tenure of the Dhami government, from the year 2022-23 till now, the average income in the state has increased from about Rs 2.20 lakh to Rs 2.74 lakh, which is Rs 54 thousand more. Apart from this, neighboring state Himachal also lagged behind Uttarakhand in terms of average income. Last year, the average income per capita in Himachal was around Rs 2.35 lakh, then the average income of Uttarakhand was around Rs 2.46 lakh.
