UGC directive: The academic session 2020-21 starts from November 1.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has directed the university to start classes for academic session 2020-21 from November 1. The university has also been asked to conduct the first batch examination by March 2021. However, the Garhwal Central University has planned to start classes before November.

The academic session is delayed this year due to the Corona transition. At present the process of filling the online application form for admission to the first year of graduation in Garhwal University has been completed. While the last date for filling the application for admission to postgraduate and professional courses has been set as October 5 and October 24.
University Registrar Prof. NS Panwar said that the UGC has instructed to start classes from November 1 by completing the admission process by October 31. According to the guideline issued by the UGC, examinations will have to be conducted from March 8 to March 26, 2021.

There will be a semester break from 27 March to 4 April. While the classes for Avon Semester (Sum) will start from April 5. The exams for this semester will run from August 9 to 21. The process for the next semester will start from August 30.

He informed that the process of making merit list is going on at the Dean level for admission in the first year of graduation. Entries will start after this. The admission process for postgraduate and professional courses will also be completed in October. The university is trying to start graduate classes by October.
