UCC will also be applicable to those who have been living in Uttarakhand for more than a year, accept this or else you will not get government facilities

The Uniform Civil Code will also be applicable to all the people living in Uttarakhand for more than a year. People who do not register as per the rules under this will not get the benefit of any scheme run by the government.
Manu Gaur, a member of the Uniform Civil Code Rules Committee, said that all the people living in Uttarakhand for more than a year will come under the purview of the Uniform Civil Code. It has no relation with original residence or permanent residence. If it was applicable only to original and permanent residents, then many people coming from other states would have been left out of its purview.
Five categories fixed
The definition of resident given in the Uniform Civil Code is given only for the subjects related to the Uniform Civil Code. Five categories have also been fixed for this. These include permanent residents or natives, permanent employees of the state government or any of its undertakings and institutions, permanent employees of the central government or any of its undertakings who are working within the territory of the state, have been residing in the state for one year or beneficiaries of such schemes of the state government or the central government which are applicable in the state. This code is applicable to all the above.

The objective is to make the database of the state more rich

He said that its objective is to provide the facility of registration as well as to make the database of the state more rich. It is like a voter card in a way, which has no relation with the domicile or permanent residence. He said that many types of options have been given in the form to be filled under the code, so this form has become 16 pages long. Despite this, it will take five to 10 minutes to fill the form online.

Online registration is more convenient
The code had to be made foolproof in every way, so it has been kept detailed. It can be filled in half an hour even offline. The details will automatically appear once you enter the Aadhaar number on the web portal, hence online registration is more convenient.
