Mussoorie: Tourists arrived in large numbers over the weekend.



Tourist arrivals in Mussoorie were good on weekends, but the crowded tourist destinations of Doon, Sahasradhara, Maldevata and Guchupani, did not see much rush. Locals had reached the three tourist destinations in Doon with the family, while the tourists from outside went directly to Mussoorie. Tourists started arriving in Mussoorie from Saturday itself.

On Sunday, the queen of the mountains, Mussoorie and the nearby Kempty Falls were buzzing with tourists. Library including Mall Road and Kulri Bazar, four shops, Lalitibba were very excited with tourists. Library Chowk was packed with two-wheelers. Tourists did a lot of activity in the cold water at the Kempty Fall waterfall. A large number of tourists returned to their destinations in the afternoon and the process continued till late evening. The influx of tourists also continues.

Rakesh Narayan Mathur, president of the Mussoorie Hotel Association, said that 30 to 40 percent of the occupancy in the hotel was till the evening. On the other hand, in view of the arrival of tourists in Maldevata, barricades were put in place from Raipur police station, but only 700 to 800 tourists arrived here during the day. The same situation also happened for Maldevata and Guchupani. SO Dilbar Singh Negi said that most of the locals in Maldevata and Sahasradhara were arriving with the family.

Covid test of 150 people in Mussoorie:
On the orders of the administration, separate teams were formed on behalf of the Joint Civil Hospital and 150 tourists and other persons were tested in the area under the Mackinan pump locality and Sumitra Bhavan of the city. Covid Nodal Officer of the hospital, Dr. Pradeep Rana said that all the reports have come negative. This process will continue continuously. He appealed to the residents and tourists to get the Covid test done. Also asked to wear masks and follow physical distance. At the same time, no tests were conducted in Maldevata, Guchupani and Sahasradhara of Dehradun on Sunday.
