Three new air services started in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually launched three air services. He said that air and heli services are going to prove to be a milestone in the development of the state. The state government is constructing heliports at 18 places under the Udan scheme. He said that the three air services are going to prove to be very important for the state, these services will give impetus to tourism and economic development as well as the people of the border area Pithoragarh will get a new and better option to reach the country’s capital. These services will also speed up emergency and disaster management work.

Start of heli service is an achievement for the state

In a program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence on Thursday, the Chief Minister virtually launched the air service between Dehradun to Gauchar and Dehradun to Joshiada heli service and Delhi to Pithoragarh. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the start of heli service from Sahasradhara of Dehradun to Joshiyada of Uttarkashi and Gauchar of Chamoli under the Regional Air Connectivity Scheme is an achievement for the state. With the start of these heli services, the journey to Joshiyada can be completed in 40 minutes and the heli journey to Gauchar can be completed in 50 minutes. He said that a few years ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the visionary Udaan scheme with the aim of enabling the common man to travel by air. This scheme has also contributed significantly in strengthening the air service in Uttarakhand.

18 heliports are being constructed

He said that 18 heliports are being constructed in the state under this scheme. Heli and air services are being operated successfully from 10 of these. Important areas like Srinagar, Haldwani, Munsiyari, Pithoragarh, Pantnagar, Champawat and Almora have been successfully connected in these. In the coming time, other important areas of the state will also be connected with it. The start of these services will not only promote tourism in rural areas but will also create new employment opportunities for local businesses, homestays and youth. He said that understanding the importance of air connectivity, the government is paying special attention to promoting domestic flights. Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal, MP Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah, MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Chief Executive Officer UCADA Sonika, Additional Chief Executive Officer Dayanand Saraswati, apart from former Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta were also present in the program through virtual medium.
