There was a scam worth crores in the Horticulture Department, now the government will challenge the High Court order in the Supreme Court.

The government is going to challenge in the Supreme Court the High Court’s order for a CBI investigation into the scams in various schemes in the Horticulture Department. According to sources, after getting permission from the Justice Department, now an advocate has also been appointed. During the tenure of Dr. SH Baweja as Director in the Horticulture Department, financial irregularities in various schemes came to light. In this case the government had suspended Dr Baweja. Also the investigation was handed over to SIT.

High Court had ordered CBI investigation
Meanwhile, social activist Deepak Kargeti approached the High Court regarding the scam. Not only this, the SIT also sought permission to register an FIR against Dr. Baweja in the case. After the hearing, the High Court had ordered a CBI investigation into the matter.
Scam worth crores happened
Actually, there was a scam worth crores in the Horticulture Department of Uttarakhand. A petition was filed in the High Court regarding this. It was said in the petitions that a scam worth crores has been committed in the Horticulture Department. Irregularities have been made in the purchase of fruit plants.

Bills worth crores were raised
In fact, when the farmers of Uttarkashi raised this scam loudly, a letter was issued to cancel the allotment of Anika Traders. Still, the saplings were distributed only by Anika Traders. Apart from this, the Director, in collaboration with the Chief Horticulture Officer, made a fake allotment to Barkat Agro Farm, a nursery in Jammu and Kashmir. Payment was made to Barkat Agro even before the invoice bill arrived. Not only this, bills worth crores were settled without the signature of the accountant.
