There has been an immediate relief from heavy rain in Doon. Partial clouds were hovering since Sunday morning and there was also a play of sunshine. However, dense clouds also camped in between, but it did not rain. There were light showers at some places in the outer areas of the city. Due to which the temperature dropped. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy rains at some places in Doon today. There is a possibility of light rain in the surrounding areas as well.
Chances of rain in the mountains
Clouds are hovering from the mountains to the plains in Uttarakhand. Although, the sequence of heavy rains has slowed down a bit, but the series of showers may continue for the next few days. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the mountains. According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, there may be one or two rounds of intense rain with thunder and lightning at some places in Dehradun and Nainital today. A yellow alert has been issued regarding this. Heavy showers may also occur in Uttarkashi, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar. Partial clouds are expected in other districts.
