Tehri Lake will be made a world class tourist destination, Chief Secretary gave special instructions in the meeting

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan said that Tehri Lake will be made a world class tourist destination. He instructed to prepare an action plan in this regard. Also, he has asked to present a detailed proposal in the next meeting. On Thursday, a meeting of the Tehri Lake Area Development Scheme High Powered Committee was held in the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. In the meeting, the progress report of 19 sub-plans currently underway in the Tehri Lake area was presented. In the meeting, the Chief Secretary expressed satisfaction over the progress of works in the Tehri Lake area such as tourism route, development of Dobra Chanti Park, upgradation of Tiwad village and solid waste management works. The Chief Secretary instructed the officials that in future, DPR should be prepared only after conducting a ground survey of any project so that all aspects can be included in it. Its purpose is that there is no possibility of increase in the project cost later. He instructed that consultancy services should not be taken for the remaining small works except for big and important works. While preparing the DPR of the projects, this should also be kept in mind and after the completion of the work, its regular operation should also be done. The Chief Secretary also directed to submit the details of the work done from time to time by various agencies related to the development of Tehri lake area. Principal Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Tourism Sachin Kurve, Secretary V Shanmugam, Project Director Abhishek Rohela and other officials were present in the meeting.
