Tehri (Ghansali) Gas Cylinder Shortage News

Tehri: Panic gripped residents in Ghansali area of Tehri district as a large crowd gathered outside an Indian Gas agency late at night in search of LPG cylinders. The situation turned chaotic, forcing the administration to intervene and send people back home.

According to reports, long queues of consumers formed outside the gas agency after rumors of a supply shortage spread in the area. People rushed to secure cylinders, leading to confusion and overcrowding at the site.

Upon receiving information, SDM Ghansali, Alkesh Naudiyal, reached the spot and assessed the situation. He appealed to the public to remain calm and assured them that there was no need to panic. He clarified that only those consumers who had already booked their cylinders would receive delivery.

Local social worker Vinod Lal stated that gas supply had not arrived for the past five days, which increased concern among residents. As a result, people began lining up late at night in anticipation of the next morning’s supply.

The administration confirmed that the crowd buildup was largely due to misinformation. Officials assured that LPG distribution would be carried out in a systematic manner and on a roster basis in rural areas.

Residents said the shortage has affected daily life, forcing many families to rely on traditional fuels like firewood. Authorities have urged people not to believe rumors and to depend only on official communication. They also assured that efforts are being made to restore regular gas supply soon.
