Strict action will be taken against institutions not providing parking in basement in Dehradun, Chief Secretary gave instructions for strict action

The basement of commercial institutions in the city will be used 100%. Now strict action will be taken against institutions and related persons not providing parking in basement. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan gave these instructions in a meeting held in the Secretariat on Friday regarding the mobility plan related to making Dehradun city organized and more dynamic. He also asked to complete the ongoing works in view of traffic management at a fast pace and to prepare a clear blueprint of the future road map to make the city automated and dynamic.

Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal informed the Chief Secretary about the city’s mobility plan through a presentation in the meeting. Along with this, details of the ongoing works in this regard and the progress made so far were given. He also informed about the works to be done in future and the long-term plan to further improve the city’s system. The Chief Secretary gave instructions to expedite the work of road and junction improvement in the city. He directed the District Administration, Public Works Department, MDDA, Municipal Corporation, Transport Department, Police, Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan and Drinking Water Corporation to prepare a clear road map to make Dehradun city more dynamic and well-organized through mutual coordination. He also stressed on ensuring the determination of a timeline for each work.
The Chief Secretary directed the MDDA to strictly follow the parking bylaws while approving the building construction maps. Principal Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Pankaj Pandey, MDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari, Additional Secretary Vineet Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Dehradun Namami Bansal and officials of various departments were present in the meeting.
