SOP can be issued today for international bus operations…

With a view to promote economic activities in the state, the state government has now made up its mind to start inter-state bus service. However, it will start with limited bus operations.

Transport Department has sent a proposal in this regard to Disaster Management Department and Health Department. A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is expected to be released in this regard on Friday. A departmental official of the government has confirmed this.
According to official sources, 100-100 bus services could start with UP and Rajasthan in the first phase. UP has already sent a proposal to operate 100 bus. Now Rajasthan has also sent a proposal to start bus services. Transport Department is taking permission from the government for this.

File of this proposal has been sent to CM Office. According to the departmental officer, a proposal was prepared and sent to the Disaster Management Department, but the Disaster Management Department asked to send the proposal to the Health Department. The proposal has been discussed with the secretaries of both departments.

On Friday, the Transport Department may issue an SOP regarding the operation of the buses. This SOP will mention thermal scanning at roadways station, compulsory registration of passengers coming from other states and all health guidelines for prevention of Kovid-19 epidemic. There is a disparity in fares in Uttarakhand and UP-Rajasthan buses. The situation can also be clarified with regard to the rental rates in SOP.
