Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is going to give two big gifts to sports and players this year. On one hand, the construction of Sports University will start in Haldwani, on the other hand, there is a preparation to open 23 sports academies in eight cities of the state. There is a preparation to lay the foundation stone of the Sports University on National Sports Day on 29 August. On the other hand, during the National Games, academies will be opened in the eight cities including Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani, where sports activities were conducted and infrastructure was prepared. This will enable better maintenance of the infrastructure prepared for sports and a solid platform will be prepared for the training of players. The notification of Sports University has been issued.
Major Achievements
38th National Games: According to the government, the state took a big leap in the field of sports in the fourth year of CM Dhami’s tenure. The 38th National Games were successfully organized in the silver jubilee year of Uttarakhand, in which the players of the state scored a century of medals and secured seventh place in the table.
New Sports Policy
A new sports policy has been implemented under which incentives ranging from one to two crores have been arranged for Olympic medal winners. Government jobs are being given to players who bring medals in international and national competitions. The incentive amount has been doubled. Scholarships are also being given.
Uttarakhand is also being known as the land of sports, it is a pleasant feeling for us. After the grand event of the National Games, there is a better sports environment in the state. The morale of the players is high and they are performing brilliantly. The process of taking big decisions and implementing them for the development of sports and players will continue.
