A meeting of Sanskrit Academy Uttarakhand was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship. It was decided in the meeting that the name of Sanskrit Academy will be ‘Uttaranchal Sanskrit Sansthan Haridwar, Uttarakhand’. Chief Minister Trivendra said that it is very important to promote Sanskrit, the mother of languages, so that along with preserving our ancient culture, the trend of youth towards Sanskrit language can be increased. He said that Sanskrit villages should be made first at district level and then at block level. In addition to promoting Sanskrit language, special attention should be paid to research work to ensure that the youth have good knowledge of Sanskrit and its wide impact to the society. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that more attention should be paid to research work on Sanskrit language, Vedas, Puranas and scripts, for which there should be proper provision of budget. Whatever the tasks are, all should be based on results.
It was decided in the meeting that the budget will be provisioned for the protection of those who do good work in the field of Sanskrit and the manuscripts. Digital library will be created. Various events will be organized on the occasion of Kumbh Mela. Apart from this, conferences, seminars, training and workshops will be organized. Various competitions and Sanskrit drama training were also imparted by Sanskrit Academy in Sanskrit language. On this occasion, Secretary Vinod Raturi, Vice President of Sanskrit Academy Uttarakhand Premchand Shastri, Member Prof. Devi Prasad Shastri, Prof. PN Shastri, Prof. Vedprakash Shastri, Prof. Radheshyam Chaturvedi, Dr. Omprakash Bhatt, Prof. Sunil Kumar Joshi, Bhagirath Sharma, Subhash Chandra Joshi, Secretary Dr. Anand Bhardwaj and other members were present.
