Dehradun– Now there will be no need to keep driving license and documents related to the vehicle. Because electronic documents will be valid. Now, the documents of the vehicle including driving license and e-challan will be maintained through the Information Technology (IT) portal. The new Central Motor Vehicle Act is expected to be implemented from October 1 across the country including Dehradun.

Officials of the Dehradun RTO office are studying the points of the new Motor Act. A detailed report is being prepared for this. However, the framework of the implementation of the new Act is not clear yet. The picture is expected to be cleared within a day or two. ARTO Enforcement Rashmi Pant said that the new Motor Act is being studied. It will be implemented according to the guidelines of high officials.

Freedom from document check by stopping on the road:
After the implementation of the new Motor Act, people will now get rid of the problem of checking documents by stopping at check posts on the way. It will not be mandatory to keep the original copy of the driving license and documents related to the vehicle. Electronic documents will be valid. Documents for this will be made available on DigiLocker or M-Transport app. They are legally recognized. Apart from this, many important points including e-challan have been included.
