Real-time current and voltage data will be available; UPCL conducted training; the system will immediately alert if power is lost on a feeder.

Under the RDSS scheme, UPCL (Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited) officials received online training on the use of the Real-Time Data Acquisition System. The purpose of this training was to teach field officials how to monitor and operate the power system using this new technology. This system allows real-time access to power current and voltage data at each substation. If a power outage occurs on an 11 kV feeder, the system will immediately alert officials, allowing them to take immediate action and restore power quickly. This system will also help monitor the quality and stability of power distribution. It will display the duration of power available throughout the day at each feeder level. This will help UPCL make better decisions based on data and increase the efficiency of power supply.
Officials from all divisions were connected via video conferencing during the training. After the programme, they were given a login ID, through which they would be able to view the power supply information of their area directly on the system and take immediate decisions.
