Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the State Emergency Operations Center and took information about the heavy rainfall in Uttarkashi and the damage caused by rain in different areas of the state. He instructed the officials to remain on alert mode for 24 hours for two months in view of the monsoon. From the State Emergency Operations Center located at IT Park, the Chief Minister directed the District Magistrates of Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi and Chamoli districts to make necessary arrangements for the safety of all the devotees who came on the Chardham Yatra. Said that basic needs including food, medicines and milk for children should be met for the devotees. Chardham Yatra has been stopped for the next 24 hours due to the warning of heavy rain. The Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates to send the people living around the river and gadera and other sensitive places to safe places. The search and rescue operation of the missing laborers due to the cloudburst incident in the Barkot area of Uttrakhand district should be expedited. Out of 29 labourers, 20 have been rescued safely, while the bodies of two labourers have been recovered. Seven labourers are missing.
The CM said, by creating a database of pregnant women in all the districts, proper arrangements should be made to take them to hospitals before delivery. Apart from this, the damaged and obstructed roads due to landslides due to rain should be restored soon. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Vinod Kumar Suman, Commissioner Garhwal Vinay Shankar Pandey, IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari, Additional Chief Executive Officer Anand Swaroop, Rajkumar Negi were present in the meeting.
