The police department has become alert regarding the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 6. Some officers have been sent to Uttarkashi from the police headquarters, while security arrangements have been tightened in the district as well. The Prime Minister will reach Jolly Grant by special plane, after which he will go to Uttarkashi. Commandant PAC Preeti Priyadarshini and Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh briefed the police officers and employees posted on duty on Tuesday regarding the security arrangements in Jolly Grant and surrounding areas. The officers reviewed the security arrangements and instructed them to remain alert and discharge their duties. It was said that all officers and employees will reach their duty place three hours before the scheduled time during duty and report to their in-charge officer. The duty place and its surrounding places will be checked thoroughly. All officers and employees posted on duty must keep their identity card and duty card with them. Apart from this, the police force posted on duty was instructed not to use mobile phones during duty and neither leave the duty point without informing. Strict action will be taken against police personnel who are negligent during duty. Said that from security point of view, checking should be ensured for search of suspicious persons in Jolly Grant and its surrounding areas. Also, bomb disposal squad and swan team should be used to check tall buildings, water tanks and other places located nearby and necessary police force should be deployed at those places. All station in-charges were instructed to conduct checking campaigns in their respective police station areas at Dharamshalas, hotels, bus stations, railway stations etc. and take action for their verification by questioning outsiders and suspicious persons.
Prime Minister can worship in Mukhwa wearing Chapkan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi can worship Maa Ganga in Mukhwa on Thursday wearing traditional dress Chapkan. Gangotri Temple Committee has decided to present this dress to the Prime Minister. The Tirthpurohits of the temple also worship wearing this dress. Earlier, during the Prime Minister’s visit to Mukhwa, it was revealed that he had worn coat-pyjama and hill cap made of pattu prepared by the Jad-Kinnauri community.
