Police increased surveillance of notorious prisoners in jail, suspicious activities are being monitored.

In view of the Lok Sabha elections, the police has increased the surveillance of notorious prisoners lodged in the jails of the state. Besides, the police is also keeping a close watch on those who meet and contact him. According to the police, till now no suspicious activities of these prisoners have come to light during the elections, but still the prisoners are being monitored as a precautionary measure. During elections, the police along with history-sheeters increase the surveillance of notorious people lodged in jails. The police department along with the Special Task Force (STF) has instructed the jail administration to keep an eye on the notorious prisoners. At present, notorious Sunil Rathi, Praveen Valmiki, Narendra Valmiki and Prakash Pandey are lodged in the jails of Uttarakhand. There have been cases of these prisoners committing crimes while in jail.

There is special attention on prisoners
The prisoners are being monitored to see whether they are hatching any conspiracy in the elections while sitting in the jail. At present, the most notorious are lodged in Haridwar, Pauri and Almora jails. In such a situation, instructions have been given to the police department to keep a special eye on these prisoners. These days, the jail administration is also keeping an eye on those who meet the notorious people. Besides, their barracks are also being checked.

STF SSP Ayush Aggarwal said that surveillance of notorious prisoners lodged in the jails of Uttarakhand has been increased. However, till now no criminal role has been revealed by these prisoners in the elections. Nevertheless, the activities of notorious prisoners are being monitored in view of the elections.
