Senior surgeon Dr. Maurya, serving at District Hospital Pauri, died on Friday night while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh.
Dr. Maurya was undergoing treatment since 8 December. Maurya has served in Pauri, Chamoli, Nainital and Haridwar districts. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
On his death CMO Dr. Manoj Sharma, CMS Dr. RS Rana, ACMO Dr. Ramesh Kunwar, Provincial Advisor of Medical Services Association, Dr. RV Singh expressed deep condolences.
