The number of applicants to the Passport Office has also started to increase as the prevalence of Corona infection has decreased. This has also started showing effect at Passport Seva Kendra in Dehradun and six Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSK) in the state. At some places, people have to wait for biometric examination.

At the Passport Seva Kendra Dehradun, there have been 360 appointments for normal passports, 30 for Tatkal, 30 for Police Clearance Certificate for 27 January. Similarly, 50 online appointments have been made for various inquiries at the Regional Passport Office at MKP Road on 27 January.

Almora has 20 appointments on February 1 and Kathgodam 40 appointments. There are 40 appointments in Nainital and Srinagar Garhwal for January 27, 40 in Roorkee for January 28 and Rudrapur (Udhamsingh Nagar) for February 2.

Uttarakhand Regional Passport Officer Deepak Joshi said that now more number of people are applying for passports. The number of pending applications is also increasing, but it is comforting that all the POPSKs in the remote area have been opened. Due to this the people of Dehradun are not having to go round.
