BJP is busy making strategy for party-supported candidates for the posts of District Panchayat President and Block Pramukh. On Sunday, BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and discussed the three-tier Panchayat results and the elections for the posts of Zilla Panchayat President and Block Pramukh. BJP President Bhatt and State General Secretary Ajay Kumar met CM Dhami at the CM residence.
Bhatt congratulated the Chief Minister on the victory of party-supported candidates in Gram Panchayat, Kshetra Panchayat and District Panchayats in the three-tier Panchayat. Apart from this, brainstorming was done on the victory of the party-supported candidate on the elections of District Panchayat and Block Pramukh posts. BJP has made a strategy to garner the support of independents and rebels who won the elections. Senior party leaders have been given the responsibility of the districts. BJP-supported candidates have won the elections on seven seats in Dehradun district. While Congress-supported candidates won on 13 seats and independent candidates won on 10 seats. BJP is claiming to make BJP’s District Panchayat President in Dehradun district. BJP argues that independent candidates are also associated with BJP ideology.
Observers deployed in all districts
The State Congress Committee has geared up for the election of the District Panchayat President and Block Pramukh posts. Congress has sought a report of potential candidates from the observers deployed in the districts for the three-tier Panchayat elections. State Congress Vice President Organization Suryakant Dhasmana said that observers were deployed in all the districts for the Panchayat elections on behalf of the party. In this, the responsibility was given to senior party leaders, former ministers and former MLAs. On the instructions of State President Karan Mahara, all observers were instructed to send the report of potential candidates for the post of District Panchayat President and Area Panchayat Pramukh in their respective districts to the state headquarters.
Before giving the report, the observers will prepare a panel of potential candidates by coordinating with the senior leaders of the districts, MLAs, candidates for Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, as well as the newly elected members of the District Panchayat and Area Panchayat and send it to the state headquarters. Vice President Organization Dhasmana said, Congress has performed better in the three-tier Panchayat elections. If elections for the posts of Zila Panchayat Adhyaksh and Block Pramukh are held in a transparent manner, there will be a big upset in the state. He alleged that the BJP is trying to win the elections by using money power.
