Orange alert issued for heavy rain in Dehradun, see the latest update of the Meteorological Department

Heavy rain continues in Uttarakhand. Heavy rain is falling in some places from the mountain to the plains. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain across the state today as well. An orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain in Dehradun, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy rain in some places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Nainital, for which there is a yellow alert. In the remaining districts too, lightning and heavy rains are possible along with thunder.

Torrential rain continued on Saturday

Showers continue in Doon and surrounding areas. However, on Friday, sun and clouds kept playing hide and seek throughout the day and light to moderate rain was recorded at some places. The torrential rain that started early on Saturday continued till noon. During this time, more than 50 mm of rain was recorded in Doon and surrounding areas.

Rain affected movement in the mountains

However, there was rainfall of up to 80 mm in some places in Kumaon. Difficulties are still not reducing due to rain in the hilly areas. Intermittent rains are continuing in the surrounding areas including Chardham. Movement is being affected due to landslides on roads at many places in the mountains. Rain may continue in most areas of the state for the next three to four days. Heavy rain warning has been issued in Dehradun today as well. According to the Meteorological Center, an alert has been issued regarding heavy rain in many districts today.
