Central government issued guidelines on opening of school



According to the Department of School Education and Literacy, whatever schools will open will have to follow the rules of the state governments, which will be based on our SOP. The standard procedure is divided into two parts. First – rules related to health, cleanliness and safety. And second- the rules related to the rules of social distancing.
The Ministry of Education has issued guidelines related to the opening of schools from 15 October on Monday. According to these guidelines, schools and coaching institutes can be opened in a systematic way after 15 October.
The ministry says that states can also follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) according to their local requirements. According to the Home Ministry order issued on 30 September, “States and Union Territories can decide to open schools in a systematic manner after 15 October. For this they will have to talk to the management of schools and coaching institutes. For this, the states themselves should prepare a Health and Safety Standard Procedure (SOP) which should be based on the SOP of the Ministry of Education. ”
The Guideline  of the Ministry of Education says that cleanliness, hygiene related preparation, management of schools and educational institutions will have to be ensured before the institute opens. Under this, proper arrangement for sanitization, hand cleaning will have to be taken care of.
Proper entry and exit, cleanliness of hostels and proper sanitization are given in the guidelines related to the standard procedure of the government.
The rules related to social distancing are also given after the opening of the school in the standard procedure. It is mandatory to have a distance of 6 feet between two people, it will be necessary to wear masks in the classroom, lab and playground. Arrangement to wash hands everywhere. Screening should be in place at the entrance.

Parental consent required:
Most importantly, children will be able to come to school even after written permission from the parents of the children.
Guidelines say that concession will be given regarding rules of class attendance.
One can also opt for online classes if one wishes.
Rules for taking precaution for making and serving mid-day meal are also stated in these guidelines.
The new guidelines also detail the responsibility of the state, union territories, school heads, teachers and parents.
Apart from these, the checklist of ‘Safe School Environment’ issued by a UNICEF will also be given to school teachers and parents so that they can follow the given rules to prevent infection of Covid-19.
