Officers stuck in the secretariat for years will now be removed, Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan implemented new transfer policy

Officers stuck in the same section, department in the secretariat for years will now be removed. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has immediately implemented the new transfer policy of the secretariat administration. All transfers will be done before 31 July. Though the transfer policy was implemented in the secretariat in 2007, it could not be effective. Officers are stuck in many sections for years. This policy will be effective for section officer to joint secretary and review officer, assistant review officer, computer assistant under the secretariat service cadre. A committee will be formed with the approval of the Chief Secretary for annual transfers, in which one of the Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Secretary Secretariat Service will be the chairman. Apart from this, Additional Secretary Secretariat Administration and officers up to the level of Additional Secretary nominated by the Chief Secretary will be members. Category-A officers of the secretariat service will get deployment in any one department for a maximum of three years. Category-B officers will get deployment in the section for a maximum of five years. In category-C, the Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer will get deployment in one section for a maximum of five years, while the Computer Assistant will get deployment for a maximum of seven years.
