Nominations for District Panchayat President and Block Pramukh posts today, elections to be held on 14th

Nominations for the posts of President and Vice President in District Panchayats and Chief, Senior and Junior Deputy Chief in 89 Area Panchayats in the remaining 12 districts of the state except Haridwar will be held on Monday. Elections for these posts are to be held on 14th August. Under the three-tier Panchayat elections in the state, the election process for a total of 291 posts including 12-12 posts of President and Vice President in District Panchayats and 89-89 posts of Chief, Senior Deputy Chief and Junior Deputy Chief in Area Panchayats will start from Monday. State Election Commission Secretary Rahul Goyal said that nominations for all these posts will be held from 11 am to 3 pm on Monday. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done from 3.30 pm on the same day. This work will continue till completion. Withdrawal of names will be done on 12th August from 10 am to 2 pm. Elections for these posts will be held on 14th August from 10 am to 3 pm. Counting of votes will start immediately after the end of polling. Election results will also be declared on the same day.

Under the three-tier panchayat elections, elections of village heads and village, area and district panchayat members have been held. Members of district panchayats and area panchayats will now clear the way for the formation of boards in district panchayats and area panchayats in the final round of elections on the 14th. Political parties are eyeing this election. This will also reveal which party dominates the three-tier panchayats.
