New initiative of Dhami government of Uttarakhand, will give grant of Rs 60 thousand per room for home stay

In Uttarakhand, in the villages falling within two kilometers of the trekking traction center and the trek route adjoining it, the concerned building owner can get a grant of Rs 60 thousand per room for construction of new buildings for home stay.
The condition is that other necessary facilities including toilet should be available in it. Apart from this, a grant of up to Rs 25 thousand is payable to equip the rooms of those persons who already have buildings. These provisions have been made in the Trekking Traction Center Home Stay Grant Scheme in the state. The Dhami government is emphasizing on developing the tourism infrastructure in the state as well as ensuring the participation of local residents in it. In this episode, Trekking Traction Center Home Stay Grant Scheme has been brought under Meri Yojana-Meri Sarkar program.

Maximum number of people will be benefited
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed the officials to ensure that maximum number of people benefit from this scheme. With the coming into force of this scheme, residential facilities will be available for tourists and trekkers and rural economy will also improve. It will also help in curbing migration. This scheme, which encourages homestay development, also emphasizes on promoting the Pahari style and local architectural style in the construction of buildings. It is also necessary for the homestay operator to live there with his family. This will also help tourists to get acquainted with the local culture.
