NIT- From Monday, teachers will teach students online from Srinagar itself.

NIT (National Institute of Technology) Uttarakhand will operate in one place from Monday. The institute’s satellite campus at NIT Jaipur has been closed. From Monday, teachers will teach students online from Srinagar itself. Having a campus will also reduce the financial burden of the institute.

The temporary premises of NIT Uttarakhand, sanctioned in the year 2009, has been operating in polytechnic and ITI assets in Srinagar since 2010. Due to lack of space, classes of Btech III and IV batches were also being conducted from the year 2018 in the satellite campus built at NIT Jaipur.
The permanent campus of the institute is to be built in Sumadi. Till the construction of a permanent campus at Sumadi, it was decided to expand it in Bhaktiyana itself. For this, hostels and laboratories are being constructed at a cost of about 37 crores.
Students studying online from home
Despite the closure of offline classes, the staff of about 30 employees (teachers and ministerial staff) of NIT had gathered in Jaipur. While hostels in Jaipur and Srinagar are empty. Students are studying online from home.

Due to this the institute was facing unnecessary financial burden, due to which the BOG (Board of Governors) of the institute decided to dismantle the satellite campus and conduct online classes from Srinagar itself in the last October. Classes will run from Srinagar from Monday. In December, students will also bring goods from hostels in Jaipur.
