
Amidst the protest of Congress MLAs throughout the day in the House, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took a big action in the Nainital-Betalghat incident in the evening. He directed the transfer of CO, SHO out of the district. Along with this, he directed the Kumaon Commissioner to conduct a detailed investigation of the matter and the CBCID to investigate the incident and the cases. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken the recent developments in Nainital and Betalghat seriously and has given instructions for fair and effective action. The Chief Minister said that the Kumaon Divisional Commissioner will conduct a detailed investigation of the entire matter and will submit his investigation report to the government in 15 days. In view of the incidents, the Chief Minister, taking immediate action at the administrative level, has directed to transfer the Police Circle Officer Bhawali outside the district to some other place in view of the firing in Betalghat and other incidents. Also, the police station in-charge of Tallital will also be transferred out of Nainital district. The Chief Minister has also clarified that the CBI will now conduct a detailed investigation of the incidents that took place in Nainital and Bhawali and all the FIRs registered during this period. He said that the state government will not compromise with law and order under any circumstances and strict action will be taken against the culprits. Congress is protesting against the firing and kidnapping of five members during the district panchayat elections in Betalghat, Nainital.
