Monsoon has knocked in Uttarakhand. Monsoon has arrived in entire Uttarakhand at its normal time except some areas of Haridwar. Drizzle continues across the state and the sequence of rain may intensify in some places in the next few days. After reaching Kerala on 24 May, the monsoon was expected to enter Uttarakhand in mid-June, but there was a slight delay in it and the Meteorological Department was expecting the monsoon to reach by 21-22 June. However, the monsoon became active in the state on June 20 at its normal time. According to the Meteorological Center, the estimated time of arrival of monsoon in Uttarakhand is considered to be 20 June. Last year the monsoon arrived on 27 June and even before that two years later the monsoon arrived in the last week of June. However, in the year 2021, the monsoon knocked on June 13. Now this time the monsoon reached Kerala on 24 May itself. From where it is believed to take about 20 days to reach Uttarakhand. According to this, the monsoon was expected to hit Uttarakhand around 14 June, but last week the speed of the monsoon slowed down. The monsoon entered Uttarakhand two days before the weather department’s estimate. This time in May, there was almost double the normal rainfall and in June so far, about 20 percent less rainfall than normal has been recorded.
