With the aim of ensuring the participation of migrants in the development of Uttarakhand, the state government is going to organize the first International Migrant Uttarakhandi Conference in Dehradun on January 12. Migrant Uttarakhandi from 17 countries will reach it and so far more than 50 migrants have registered for this conference.
The conference will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It will have different sessions on topics like investment possibilities in the state, hospitality sector, wellness, skill development, employment and higher education abroad, possibilities in the field of horticulture and herbs.
Initiative to connect migrants to the soil
The initiative to connect migrant Uttarakhandis to the soil was taken by Chief Minister Dhami himself. When the Chief Minister went on a foreign tour during the first investor conference in December 2023, then the migrants welcomed him with Uttarakhandi customs. During this, he met migrant Uttarakhandis who were successful in various fields. Then, in order to make the state benefit from the experience of such migrants, the Overseas Uttarakhandi Cell was formed in the government. This cell has already organized a conference for migrants living in different states of the country on 7th November. Now a conference is being organized for migrants living abroad on 12th January.
Legendary migrants will participate in the conference
Legendary migrants like Girish Chandra Pant (recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman) from Dubai, Dev Raturi from China, Dr. Anita Sharma from America, Bhuvan Tiwari from Japan, Sunil Thapliyal from Singapore, Meenakshi Dabral, Dr. AK Kala from Thailand will participate in the International Overseas Uttarakhandi Conference. A website has also been started to provide information about the conference. Before this, many migrants will participate in the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations organized by the Central Government in Bhubaneswar.
