Master Plan will be made for passenger safety at religious places in Uttarakhand, Tourism Department will prepare the plan

Orders have been issued to prepare a master plan for religious places in Uttarakhand. In order to the instructions of Chief Minister Dhami, the Tourism Department will prepare the master plan. In order to the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Principal Secretary, RK Sudhanshu has issued orders to the Secretary Tourism to prepare a master plan for crowd control, entry-exit system and other necessary facilities at all religious places.

Immediately after the tragic accident at Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar on 27th July, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the spot and took stock of the situation. After this, the Chief Minister had instructed the officials to prepare a detailed master plan for the safety and convenience of the passengers visiting the major pilgrimage sites of Uttarakhand. In this sequence, Principal Secretary Chief Minister RK Sudhanshu has issued orders to the Secretary Tourism, directing him to start action in this direction as soon as possible. This will especially include such pilgrimage sites where more pilgrims come. In the preparation and implementation of the master plan, the divisional commissioners of both the divisions have been asked to take their special cooperation. Also, clear orders have been given that if there is illegal encroachment on the routes of pilgrimage sites, then they should be removed on priority basis.

The master plan will include

Crowd control system

Development of carrying capacity

Separate entry and exit routes

Additional space for waiting

Emergency evacuation system

Clean drinking water, toilets, first aid

Well-organized information and guidance system

Parking arrangements

Deployment of adequate security forces
