Literary tourism will increase in Uttarakhand, two literary villages will be built; Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced

In the Uttarakhand Long Term Literature Servant Award Ceremony organized by Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the government is encouraging literary tourism. In this sequence, the government is going to build two literary villages. Chief Guest Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Special Guest Language Minister Subodh Uniyal attended the felicitation ceremony and Kavi Sammelan organized at IRDT Auditorium on Sunday. Chief Minister Dhami said that the litterateurs who moved forward by accepting many challenges were honored today. Their works are showing a new direction to the society. The government is working to promote literature and culture. Emerging writers are also being honored with Sahitya Gaurav Samman, Sahitya Bhushan and Life Time Achievement. He said that the government is also making efforts to preserve the local dialect.

These were honoured
For the year 2024 and 2025, litterateur Shailesh Matiyani, folk poet Girish Tiwari Girda, folk singer Heera Singh Rana and poet Sher Singh Bisht were honoured posthumously, while folk poet Atul Sharma and litterateur Somwari Lal Uniyal Pradeep were honoured. Litterateur Shailesh Matiyani’s award was received by his wife Neela Matiyani and son Rakesh Matiyani, folk poet Girish Tiwari Girda’s family members wife Hemlata Tiwari and son Tuhin Tiwari, poet Sher Singh Bisht’s award was received by Gaura Devi and Anand and folk singer Heera Singh Rana’s award was received by Vimala Devi. The selected litterateurs were given five lakh rupees, certificates and shawls as honour. During this, he also took blessings of all the award winning elders.
