CM Dhami had given instructions for strict action
After receiving complaints of violation of land law in the state, Chief Minister Dhami had given instructions for strict action in the month of September last. Irregularities were also found in the purchase of 250 square meters of land without permission in municipal areas, purchase of more than 12.5 acres of land with permission, purchase of land for agricultural, commercial and industrial use. After this, the government asked all the District Magistrates to send a detailed report on such cases and take action against the rigging in the purchase and sale of land. The District Magistrates sent the report to the government through the Revenue Council. It came to light that notices were sent in more than 550 cases of violation of land law. As per the report received from the districts till December 11, 2024 regarding violation of permission for land purchase under Section 154 (4) (3) of the Zamindari Destruction and Land Reforms Act, permission was given in 1495 cases of land purchase in all 13 districts. Of these, 279 violated the land law. Revenue suit has been registered on 243 of these. On the other hand, land has been vested in the government in three cases in Almora and one case each in Bageshwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital. This land is 3.006 hectares.
