Heli service to Kedarnath Dham has started from today. After inspection of the helipad, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has granted flight permission to all nine heli companies. It is hoped that after the commencement of heli service, the influx of passengers in Kedarnath will increase further.

The DGCA team has inspected all the nine helipads located in Kedarghati including Kedarnath in the last three days. On Thursday, on the last day, the team inspected three helipads and issued flight permission for all the nine heli companies thereafter. Helicopters of these companies will fly from Narayankoti, Shersey, Sonprayag, Jakhdhar and Phata to Kedarnath on rotation basis. A large number of passengers are booking tickets for the Heli Yatra.
From last one week, around two thousand travelers are reaching Baba Kedar’s darshan daily. This number is expected to increase further once the heli service starts. The heli companies which will fly to Kedarnath include Pawan Hans, Prabhatam, Aero Aviation (two services), Pinnacle, Chipson, Thambi Aviation, Crystal and Himalayan.

Assistant Nodal Officer Heli Seva KS Panwar said that the DGCA team got all the arrangements under control of the helipad. So all the nine heli companies were allowed to fly to Kedarnath from today. Told that two of the nine helipads belong to Arrow Aviation.
