IGNOU has currently abolished the imperative of documentation in admission.

In many institutions, students who have passed compartment or improvement examination may not have admission opportunity, but Indira Gandhi National Open University has given relief in this direction. IGNOU has currently abolished the imperative of documentation in admission.

These days, admission process in various courses is going on in IGNOU. The October 15 deadline has been set for admissions. Meanwhile, due to Corona, all the board and university examinations were not done in time. Results of many board compartments are yet to come, while final year results are yet to come in all the universities. In such a situation, students are exempted from the compulsory requirement of showing a passing certificate during admission. As per the notification issued by IGNOU to provide relief to such applicants as per the guidelines issued by University Grants Commission, IGNOU will provide provisional admission to interested students under certain conditions. For Undergraduate (UG) courses, students will have to produce documents that can pass them the 12th exam. For Post Graduate (PG) courses, the candidate has to produce a certificate of passing the second year / 5th semester of the Bachelor degree. Students desirous of provisional admission can submit these documents by 31 December. At present, admission of all such students will be considered provisional.
