ICICI Bank takes this step to Promote Digital Transactions

ICICI Bank has introduced a new rule that is for zero balance ‘account holders. The rule is that withdrawing and depositing cash from any branch of the bank will incur a charge of 100 to 125 rupees. Customers have to pay this charge for every transaction. If the customer deposits the money in his ‘Zero Balance’ account through the machine also, then the fee has to be paid. This rule will be applicable from 16 October. The bank issued a statement on 13 September. In which it said that we are encouraging our customers to do banking transactions in digital mode. This will give a boost to Digital India.

The bank has taken another step to promote digital transactions. All charges on NEFT, RTGS and UPI transactions through mobile banking or digital banking have been abolished. Currently, an extra charge of Rs 2.25 to Rs 24.75 has to be paid in NEFT transactions ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 10 lakh. If you talk about RTGS transactions, then there is an extra charge of Rs 20 to Rs 45 for transactions ranging from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. The bank has appealed to its ‘zero’ balance account holders to change their account to another basic account, and if they cannot do so, immediately close their account.
