Amid Indo-Pak tension, police administration in Dehradun has become alert. SSP Ajay Singh instructed all police station incharges to tighten security. After which vigilance was increased at all public places in the city late at night. Checking of every visitor was started. Vehicles coming from other states were also checked. Security of central institutions located in the city was increased. A thorough checking campaign was carried out at ISBT, railway station till late night.
Checking of vehicles
SP City Pramod Kumar himself reached Ghantaghar and checked vehicles. At the same time, police teams were seen checking inside buses at ISBT. Police is also continuously checking in the Army area in CAT area. It is being told that the Army blacked out the CAT area today by sounding sirens. This included ONGC, RIMC along with the Army area. The purpose of blacking out was to make defense institutions aware if a war situation arises.
Checking in trains
On the other hand, vehicles were checked by putting up barricades in Niranjanpur Sabzi Mandi. At the railway station, GRP and RPF checked the station premises and trains.
