Heavy rain expected in most parts of Uttarakhand, Meteorological Department issued alert

In Uttarakhand, heavy showers continue amidst the play of hide and seek between sunshine and clouds. However, heavy rains are also being recorded with thunderstorms at some places, but for the last three days, rainfall in the state has been less than normal. In Dehradun and surrounding areas, the weather is changing after the sunshine and one to two rounds of heavy rain are happening. According to the Director of Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, the weather in the state can change again. An orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains in Bageshwar and Chamoli for the next two days. At the same time, one to two rounds of heavy rains with thunderstorms can also occur in Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar.

Life disrupted due to rain
After bright sunshine in the morning, life in many areas was badly affected due to rain for about an hour in the evening. Heavy rainwater from the forest in Nalapani, Nanurkheda area flooded the roads. Due to which traffic was affected for a long time. Along with this, water and debris also entered the houses and shops. There was a heavy surge in the rivers and drains of the area. At the same time, due to heavy rain in the city for some time, there was waterlogging at the squares and intersections. Today, i.e. on Tuesday, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in Doon. On Monday, the sun was shining in Doon since morning. However, clouds started hovering in the sky after noon. Around three o’clock, a series of showers started in most areas of the city. Heavy rain occurred in Sahasradhara Road and Raipur area. Due to which all the rivers and drains were in spate. Rainwater from the forest entered the residential area. Traffic came to a halt at many places due to the rainy culverts overflowing.

Rain water started flowing in the form of flood from Nalapani to Nanurkheda, Tapovan area and there was a danger of two-wheelers getting swept away. Apart from this, debris entered the houses and shops located in the area. Water receded from the roads late in the evening, but due to mud and debris, there was trouble in movement.

Due to the rain in the city, there was waterlogging on the squares and intersections. However, the rain decreased from Saharanpur Chowk towards ISBT.
