The weather in Uttarakhand has completely changed these days. Clouds are covering the mountains and plains, and light to moderate rain is continuing in many areas. With the activation of a fresh western disturbance, heavy rain, hailstorms, and snowfall in the higher elevations are expected in the state over the next two days. This is expected to cause a drop in temperatures. Dehradun and surrounding areas experienced a sunny day throughout Sunday. However, some areas became cloudy in the afternoon. Light rain occurred at several locations in the mountains. According to the Meteorological Center, Dehradun, Uttarakhand will continue to experience rain accompanied by strong winds, thunder, and lightning for the next 48 hours. Wind speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are expected in some areas. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Dehradun, Tehri and Haridwar districts in view of the possibility of heavy rain, lightning, hailstorm and strong winds.
While a warning has been issued for heavy rain in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Dehradun, Haridwar, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Tehri, Pauri and Nainital districts or snowfall in areas above 4000 meters.
