The state government increased the food allowance of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe students.



Under the Social Welfare Department, the food allowance of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes students studying in various institutions has been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4.5 thousand per month. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has approved this proposal of the department.

Residential students studying in institutions run under Tribal Welfare Department will also get benefit of increase in food allowance. Till now food allowance of Rs 4500 per month was being given in ashram system schools.

Now all industrial training institutes, SC and ST hostels, Eklavya Residential Schools, State Old Disabled Homes, Government Bhikshik Griha, students and eligible will also get food allowance at the increased rates.

Home Guard soldiers also receive arrears
The soldiers of 309 Homagard posted in the State Secretariat will get the first installment of arrears of the residual duty allowance from 25 April 2017 to 2 July 2018. The Chief Minister has approved the proposal of the Home Department. Under this, an amount of Rs one crore 24 lakh 38 thousand 600 has been sanctioned as the first installment of arrears.

49.72 lakh sanctioned for beautification of temples in US Nagar
The Chief Minister has sanctioned an amount of 49.72 lakh for the beautification of Lalkothi Sarada Ghat Temple and Bharamal Temple in Udhamsinghnagar.

Historical decisions were taken on Garsain in four years: BJP
Regarding the demand of issuing white paper from the BJP government in four years, the state BJP said that historic decisions have been taken on non-government. The party said that in the assembly elections, the party had promised the people of the state that Garsain would be declared the summer capital. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced the summer capital not only fulfilled the party’s election promise but also respected the public sentiments of Uttarakhand.
