The nature of the scheme has been prepared in such a way that a person with a capital of Rs. 1.5 to 2.5 lakh can put up the project with the help of the government. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 10 lakh. Under the scheme, there is a provision to take 70 percent of the project cost as loan from the State and District Cooperative Bank at the rate of eight percent interest.
The loan repayment period has been kept at 15 years so that the same EMI is of lesser amount and the developer is not burdened. The government will also provide subsidy on the remaining 30 percent margin money. This grant will be up to 30 percent in marginal districts, up to 25 percent in hilly districts and 15 percent in other districts.
This amount of grant will be available on margin money. Apart from this, stamp duty for mortgages recovered from earth conversion has also been waived. This stamp duty is taken seven percent of the loan amount, which is about Rs 49,000.
